Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of the Voicecape applications published by Foo AI Corp.
The trial
Voicecape runs as a full, unrestricted trial for 14 days from first launch. There is no separate trial build and nothing is held back — the trial is the app.
Starting it needs no card: the trial is tied to the Mac, not to an account. From 2026-08-30 you can create a Voicecape account and sign in, and the trial does not require one. When the 14 days end, the app stops inserting text, but your personal dictionary, settings and anything already dictated stay on your device. Starting a subscription unlocks the same installation you were already using.
What you are buying
Voicecape is licensed, not sold. An active subscription gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on up to 3 Macs, for as long as the subscription remains active.
The licence is a subscription, billed monthly or yearly, and you may cancel at any time; when it ends the app stops inserting text and your dictionary and settings stay on your device. It covers the macOS application Foo AI Corp. publishes under the name Voicecape. It does not grant a licence to any other product or platform.
A Voicecape account, available from 2026-08-30, is a separate thing from the licence. The licence is activated on each Mac with a licence key and the 3-Mac limit is counted there; an account neither carries the licence nor replaces it, and deleting an account does not cancel a subscription.
Who sells it to you
Payments are handled by Polar Software, Inc. (Polar), which acts as the merchant of record: Polar buys the licence from us and resells it to you. Your receipt, invoice and any applicable sales tax or VAT therefore come from Polar, and Polar’s own buyer terms apply to the transaction itself. Foo AI Corp. remains responsible for the software and for support.
Subscriptions purchased in Korean won on our own checkout page are sold on a different rail: Polar is not involved in those. From 2026-09-02, Foo AI Corp. sells them directly, payment is processed by PortOne Corp. (주식회사 코리아포트원), and the charge repeats on the cycle you chose — monthly or yearly — until you cancel. Cancelling is one email to [email protected]; it stops the next charge, and the time already paid for keeps running. Listed prices include VAT, and refunds follow the refund policy and Korean consumer law.
Buying inside the mobile app
Voicecape is a Mac app today: the iPhone and Android apps are not released, and there is nothing to buy in them yet. This section is published in advance, from 2026-09-11, because a change to who takes your money has to be disclosed before it happens rather than after.
When those apps do ship, a subscription bought inside them is an in-app purchase. Apple or Google is the seller on that transaction: the charge appears on your Apple Account or Google Play account, the receipt and any tax come from them, and their own terms apply to the payment itself. Foo AI Corp. remains responsible for the software and for support.
An in-app purchase renews automatically on the cycle you chose until you cancel, and you cancel it in the store account you bought it with — Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Play Store → Payments and subscriptions on Android. We cannot cancel it for you, because we are not the seller and have no access to that billing arrangement. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the period already paid for keeps running.
Refunds for those purchases are handled by the store as well. The refund policy says how to ask for one on each rail.
What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key.
- Circumvent the licence check, or use a licence on more devices than it allows.
- Reverse engineer the app except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
- Use the app to break the law, or to record people where recording them would be unlawful.
Your content
What you dictate is yours. We claim no rights over it.
With both cloud features switched off, everything runs on your Mac: speech recognition and text cleanup both happen on your device, and nothing you say or write leaves it.
Each of the two cloud features sends data off your Mac while it is on. Cloud cleanup sends the text after recognition. Cloud dictation sends the audio while you speak. Both can be turned off at any time, and the privacy policy names every company that receives the data and says what it receives.
Availability and changes
We may change, add or remove features as the product develops. If a change removes something material that you paid for, we will say so plainly in the release notes.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated on this page, and continued use after the change means you accept the updated terms.
Warranty and liability
Voicecape is provided as it is. Speech recognition is imperfect and always will be: it makes mistakes, and it can misrecognise names, numbers and technical terms. Check anything that matters before you rely on it.
To the extent permitted by law, Foo AI Corp. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the licence. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
These limits do not affect the statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
Ending the licence
You may cancel the subscription or stop using Voicecape at any time. We may suspend a licence that is being shared or used to circumvent the licence check. If we do, we will tell you why at the address on the licence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
